Dogs on Connecticut beaches
Connecticut's state park beaches are strict: three ban dogs on the beach all year, and Hammonasset allows leashed dogs only in the off-season. Town beaches are often for residents only.

Shorebird closuresPiping plover and tern nesting areas close to dogs from spring to fall, and can change daily. Signs on the beach always take priority.
